Mardi Gras at Tellus

In the early to mid-1800s, the original Mardi Gras floats were simply horse-drawn carriages with simple decorations. As time went by, Mardi Gras Krewes got bigger, floats got bigger, and the decorations more elaborate. At the larger parades, big semi-trucks with huge trailers are used. Big wooden frames and fanciful sculptures adorned with everything from colorful paper to flower petals. Some floats have motorized elements that really bring these moving pieces of art to life. Modern Mardi Gras Krewes have a great pride in their community and their floats can cost tens of thousands of dollars and hundreds of man-hours to design and create.

At Tellus Self Storage, we LOVE Mardi Gras. And, we know how much hard work goes into designing and building those beautiful floats. We also know that Krewes spend a lot of money on parade throws and often have a great deal of left-overs to contend with. Mardi Gras is almost over, and if your Krewe needs help with storage, we have a wide variety of climate-controlled and non-climate storage unit sizes to accommodate the biggest float or just a few boxes of beads.

We have locations in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama – where Mardi Gras is King! We also have locations in Texas and Florida. Extra-large or small – Tellus Self Storage has your storage unit!
